eWaste Services, a community development program, was started by Evelyn O'Donnell, a Silicon Valley veteran, who spent 15 years in high technology marketing, sales and business development, working primarily with start-up companies. After a five-year retirement, she decided to return to work. Her idea -- although not unique -- was to create a business that would enable her to give back to the community and help people.

In the summer of 2004, eWaste Services was founded after being introduced to the electronic recycling market by a business associate who explained the growing demand by both businesses and residentials. eWaste Services benefits the community and its environment, but it also provides sustainable employment and job training for disadvantaged adults who have difficulty finding and maintaining long-term employment. However, it partners with local recycling companies to create a larger pool of resources, which enables them to provide rapid and reliable service to its residentials.

eWaste Services provides on-the-job training, which gives its employees the experience, confidence and professionalism needed to be successful now and in the future. Our goal is to have eWaste Services employees become self-sufficient and contributing adults who in turn will give back to their community.
